@ Robert H. Wick Science Building
I did my internship at the WSB as a graphic designer. I worked under the supervision of Jennifer D. Foley.
Our Team was responsible for designing Banners, Posters, Small time Animation, Brochures, etc. Our designs were based on requirement and requests made by the Science Department and Other Branches affiliated with it.
A Banner for College of Science and Engineering (COSE).
My responsibility was non-literal but specified work on a pull down banner that
is over 72 inches high. The issue was with the picture of Senator on top of the banner. I had to edit so much ... so so so much I started hating this banner itself.
A Banner for School of Computing, Engineering and Environment (SCEE).
This banner was more like a theme than a banner. I think I would have easier time combining Star-Wars with Star-Trek than keeping computing, engineering and environment theme in the same banner. Being literal is much easier, now I knew how hard it was to be a designer.
UPDATES:
A Banner for Science Express.
As we can see in the picture, they introduce students from all level (kids in the image). The science express is a huge trailer that carries a small time laboratory within itself. They travel all around promoting the school and working whilst.
A Poster Design for Science and T&E Express.
I was told to combine both the aspects of Science Express and
T&E Express.
UPDATES:
A Logo design for Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
I simply love the color Red and White. I did had a bit help from one the other student employees. It seems to be a real simple image for a logo but this was one of my greatest discovery. It was almost something we learnt in class, sometimes keeping it simple is the hardest thing to do.
UPDATES:
A 3 fold Brochure Design for Integrated Science And Engineering Laboratory Facility (ISELF).
This brochure was originally a 2 fold brochure, but they wanted to make it more easier to carry. The size was 11x8 inches.
The Inside part of the folded brochure.
The Outside part of the ISELF borchure.
Again a three fold paper.
UPDATES:
A PDF interactive file I re-designed for the Science Department. It was based on students and their reactions. It was less of a mandatory but more of a research concerned by the department.
UPDATES:
A poster design for NANO Technology Industry Workshop.
This was the second annual work shop and we had few companies sponsor for it. My job was to integrate all the sponsors and keep the value of SCSU intact.
I got this original idea from My supervisor Jen Foley, I had to stick to the way it originally made with a twist of my own.
This was a magnetic poster design for T&E Express.
This design was supposed to be made in 3 different sizes;
12x12
24x24
and the third one varied.
I had to wait and keep changing the file size without disturbing the quality of any of the text or image.
UPDATES:
A Small Flash Work For the Masters Of Science.
This work was originally done by another student but my supervisor had me edit and redo the whole thing. (This was NOT my Original Design, but I re-did it).
The issues with computers around SCSU having CS5 and CS5.5 made it difficult to manage our fonts and image but I guess we all as a team did a fine job.
I do wish I had more projects to work on, but this was a few projects I did during the 10 hour a week intern session.
(I totally agree about having connections. Tina Mary a Graphic Design student from SCSU, got me this internship. I also had a lot of help from Ta Loan.)
